Q: Is it possible to use a cotton fitted sheet over the top of this sheet or would that impede the conductivity to the skin?

A: No, don't put a sheet over the Earthing sheet. You need some bare skin contact with the sheets. Even if it's a small portion of your body in connection with the sheet, it will work as it will flow all over the body.

A: For the silver pads:
The closer to direct skin contact, the better. A grounded connection can still be made when a cotton (or other natural fiber such as bamboo) fitted sheet is present over the pad. The semi conductive properties of the natural fiber sheet combined with your body’s existing moisture permit the mat to conduct earth’s electrons through the sheet to your body.
The pad can be used under a bed sheet or on top of for direct skin contact. Both methods will work.
Also, the Earthing sheets require bare skin contact. When you lie down on the connected sheet, any bare skin contact will transfer the Earth’s energy to your body once you connect the sheet
